The world's first laser. The best on the market. Light years ahead.

The first laser in the world. The best on the market. Light years ahead.

At Clinic DC, we offer you the best in terms of the latest technological advancements. The PicoSure laser is the newest and most effective technology for tattoo removal, delivering energy rather than heat to break down the ink into dust-like particles, unlike other technologies that break down ink into larger pieces. This means that our treatments require fewer sessions.

All skin types. All types of tattoos. Whether they are stubborn or not.

Multicolored tattoos, including blue and green tattoos, stubborn black ink, previously treated tattoos!

Operation:

Throughout the session, laser energy is emitted into the unwanted tattoo, targeting the ink and breaking it down into small particles. The tiny particles are then eliminated by the body’s natural processes, more quickly and with fewer sessions than traditional lasers.

FAQs

For many patients, the sensation of laser tattoo removal has been compared to what one feels when getting a tattoo, but it’s very quick. Your practitioner will work with you on the best comfort option based on your individual situation.

The number of laser treatments required for tattoo removal depends on several variables such as the type of ink, the size of the tattoo, the location on the body, the type of laser used, lifestyle habits, etc. During your consultation, a practitioner will assess your tattoo and recommend a realistic treatment regimen to help you achieve the best results.

Although it typically takes the body 8 to 12 weeks to absorb ink particles, every patient and every tattoo reacts differently. Following the recommended post-treatment protocol will likely improve results and reduce the risk of minor adverse events.

The ideal endpoint for tattoo treatment is a slight whitening or ‘frosting’ of the skin, but this will immediately subside after treatment. Other observable effects include mild swelling and redness. Your practitioner will advise you on the best way to keep the area moist.

Until the launch of PicoSure, Q-Switched lasers were considered the gold standard for tattoo removal. Q-Switched laser treatments use thermal energy to heat and break down ink particles. Now, with PicoSure, ultra-short pulses hit the ink particle with such high pressure that the ink shatters into tiny, dust-like particles. Because the particles are so small, they are more easily absorbed and eliminated by the body. PicoSure has proven itself in treating dark and stubborn blue and green inks, as well as stubborn tattoos previously treated that were not successfully cleared in the past.

Tattoos can be lightened in preparation for a cover-up tattoo. Your practitioner may have you wait six weeks between your last treatment and when you finish the new tattoo.

The cost of laser tattoo removal depends on several factors, including the size of the tattoo and the number of treatments it will require. Most insurance companies will not cover laser tattoo removal as it is considered an elective cosmetic procedure. After your consultation, your practitioner will provide you with an estimate of the cost for the series of treatments.
